Dana Arschin Biography
Dana Archin is an American Emmy award-winning journalist currently working as a reporter for Fox 5 News since joining the station in August 2016. She joined Fox 5 News from News 12 the Brooklyn where she worked as a general assignment reporter.
Arschin attended the University of Delaware and graduated Cum Laude with a double major in Communication and Spanish Studies. Moreover, she has a Master’s degree with honors in Broadcast Journalism from the New York Institute of Technology.
Growing up in Long Island, Dana discovered her passion for journalism at a young age. She then made her broadcasting debut in the fifth grade, reporting for her elementary school’s first-ever news station, Jackson Broadcasting Kids.
In 2018, Dana traveled to Poland to learn more about her ancestors killed in the Holocaust. From the tour, Arschin shot and wrote three Fox 5 Films on her journey. One of them, ‘The Forgotten Camps,’ won a NY Emmy Award.
During her service at News 12, Dana also won a NY Emmy Award for her reporting on the city’s cleanup efforts in Brooklyn during the 2014 snowstorms.
Dana is fluent in Spanish, has a good understanding of the Portuguese language, and is a beginner in Mandarin. Dan loves flying on the trapeze when she is not working, eating at New NYC restaurants, and planning her next travel adventure.
