Darby Stanchfield is an American actress well-recognized for playing the role of Abby Whelan in ABC’s drama series called Scandal. She is also widely recognized for Playing Nina Key’s role in a 2020 Netflix fantasy Tv series called Lock & Key. Darby even played the role of April Green in a CBS post-apocalyptic drama series called Jericho. She has also played various roles in films and Tv series like Fixing Pete, Loserville, Willie and Me and Finding Hope.
Stanchfield was born and raised in the small town of Kodiak, Alaska. She grew up as an outspoken and charming little girl who adored her parents. Darby also moved from Dutch Harbor before finally settling on Mercer Island near Seattle Washington. She finished her high school education in her hometown and proceeded to college. Darby then graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications with minors in theatre from the University of Puget Sound in 1993. Darby even played the role of Shannon Gibbs on CBS’s procedural drama called NCIS. She then began playing her breakthrough role as Abby Whelan on Scandal in 2011 after impressing Shonda Rhimes. Darby even co-starred in other film projects like Carnage Park (2016) and The Rendezvous (2017). Her latest project includes playing the main role of Nia Locke in Netflix supernatural series knowns as Locke & Key from 2020 to 2022. She currently appears in all twenty-eight episodes of the show alongside Petrice Jones and Hallea Jones.
