David Westin Biography
David Westin is an American journalist who has been working as an anchor for Bloomberg: Balance of Power and Bloomberg Big Decisions on Bloomberg Television since 2015. Previously, he was an anchor on Bloomberg Daybreak Americas. He was also the principal of Witherbee Holdings, LLC, advising and investing in media companies. This was from 2014 to 2015. He was also the president and CEO of Newsnight. This was from 2011 to 2012.
Westin graduated from Pioneer High School in 1970. In addition, he received a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors and distinction from the University of Michigan. He also received a JD degree, summa cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School in 1977. After graduating, he served as a law clerk to J Edward Lumbard.
Furthermore, he was the president of ABC News. This was from March 6, 1997, through December 3, 2010. He was responsible for all aspects of ABC News’ television broadcasts. He received eleven George Foster Peabody Awards during his tenure at ABC News. On September 6, 2010, it was announced that he would retire from ABC. However, it was also announced that he would remain until the end of the year to give the company time to find a replacement.
