Prior to joining her current station, she worked as a reporter and fill-in anchor for WSYX based in Columbus, Ohio. This was immediately after her graduation in 1990.
She attended and graduated from a local high school in Hudson, Ohio. Later on, she earned her majors in broadcast journalism from Miami University in Miami, Florida. This was in 1990. She first began her career as an intern reporter for WSYX news in Ohio. While there she gained experience in covering live field reports and editing impactful news. This provided trust and credibility among her viewers.
She describes her start on the station as her first humble start in her career. Centofanti also made various friends and even met production director Keith on set. After her official departure from the station, she worked in a number of media stations across the US. This was before joining her current station WJBK, FOX 2 Detroit.
