Elizabeth Perez is a veteran Cuban-Venezuelan-American Emmy Award-winning journalist and anchor currently working as a sports anchor and correspondent for CNN en Español in Atlanta, Georgia. Prior to joining CNN, Elizabeth worked as a television presenter for the sports segments on Telemundo News in Miami.
Perez guest reported on the extreme sports show, Ritmo Deportivo. In addition, she is the 2008 NATAS Emmy Award winner for Best on Camera News Talent and a 2009 nominee n the same category.
Born in Sagua La Grande and raised up in Maracay, Aragua STate, Perez moved to the United States and attended the Universidad Bicentenaria de Aragua. She later graduated as a Systems Engineer. Later on, she studied English at Boston University in Massachusetts.
In 2002, Perez was awarded a scholarship by the Puerto Rican Newspaper “El Nuevo Dia” and enrolled at Florida International University. While at the University, Elizabeth interned with El Nuevo Herald where she wrote and published several articles on various topics. She also interned with Telemundo, anchoring and producing an entertainment segment for Telemundo Internacional.
Before she received her Masters’ degree in Mass Communication from Florida International University, Elizabeth was hired by Telemundo as an entertainment anchor for several shows on the station.
