Kelly Foster Biography
Kelly Foster is a renowned American journalist currently working as NBC15‘s Morning anchor. She has also worked as a meteorologist, anchor, and reporter at NBC15 since 2001. Prior to joining the network, Kelly anchored WDAm-TV’s highly-rated Live@Five newscast and served as a part-time meteorologist. Moreover, Foster worked as a morning anchor at WXXV-TV.
Tropical Meteorology has long been her passion, and she has covered over a dozen Gulf Coast landfalls. Major Hurricanes Ivan (Strong Cat 3, Landfall Gulf Shores, AL), Dennis (Cat 3 Landfall Pensacola/Navarre Beach, FL), and Katrina (Strong Cat 3 Landfall LA/MS border) all impacted her directly. Ivan and Katrina were both Cat 5 storms before landfall, with Dennis peaking at just under a Cat 5.
Foster has also witnessed firsthand the aftermath and devastation caused by Hurricanes Ivan and Katrina, two of the most devastating hurricanes in history.
Kelly has a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree. She holds a degree in Radio, Television, and Film from the University of Southern Mississippi. Foster also holds a Mississippi State University Meteorology degree. She also attended Auburn University and the University of London in England.
