Elliotte Friedman is a Canadian sports journalist who currently serves as a hockey reporter for Sportsnet and as an insider for the NHL Network. Friedman is a regular panelist on CBC’s Hockey Night in Canada

He also served as a commentator for CBC’s coverage of diving and swimming sports at the 2016 Summer Olympics, replacing Steve Armitage. Steve was unable to participate in the Games due to a diagnosis of persistent heart disease.

Similarly, he earned international recognition after making a mistake during his commentary in the Men’s 200-meter individual medley final. He said that US swimmer Ryan Lochte was in the lead and had won the race when his opponent, Michael Phelps, beat him on November 11, 2016.
