Erin Hassanzadeh Biography
Erin Hassanzadeh is an American Emmy Award-winning reporter currently working at WCCO in Minneapolis. She joined the station in 2019, where she covers big international stories as well as what’s happening down the street.
Before joining WCCO, Hassanzadeh worked for KCCI in Des Moines and KETV in Omaha. Additionally, she was a feature writer for 10 Magazine in Seoul, South Korea. While still in college, Erin also interned for ABC News, CBS Radio News, KSTP-TV, Pie Town Productions, and KCCI.
Erin graduated from Drake University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication in 2014. Additionally, she attended and graduated from Korea University with a major in Korean Language and Literature. For her high school education, she attended Jefferson High School.
Previously, Erin worked for ABC News as an intern for a period of one month in December 2011. She advised producers and talent on live shot logistics for their broadcast that attracted a million viewers. From December 2011 to January 2012, she worked for CBS Radio, where she connected CBS Radio news with political campaigns as a news liaison and conducted engaging interviews and in-depth story research.

Hassanzadeh also worked as an intern at KSTP Twin Cities Live, where she pitched story ideas, booked guests, and managed a studio audience for a show about food, entertainment, and lifestyle. From May 2012 to May 2013, she managed 12 producers for Drake University radio, TV, sports broadcasts, and the Drake Relays telecast. At the Drake Relays Telecast, she served as an executive producer.
Additionally, Erin was a staff writer for the Times Delphic from August 2010 to September 2013 while still at school. She was also a student ambassador for two years and seven months, from August 2011 to February 2014.
Hassandazeh joined WCCO in March 2019, serving as a reporter and an anchor. Previously, she worked at Heart Television, where she covered breaking news segments from January 2017 to February 2019. From October 2013 to July 2014, she was a reporter for KCCI.
