Frederik Pleitgen Biography

Frederik Pleitgen is a German journalist who is currently working as a senior international correspondent located in CNN’s London bureau. Between 2006 and 2014, he was CNN’s Berlin correspondent. While there, he delivered insight into the political, economic, and cultural influences of this key European power.

He studied North American Studies at the Rheinische Fredrich-Wilhelms-University in Bonn and at Free University Berlin, where he submitted his master’s thesis on traditions in American journalism. In addition, he spent one year studying at the School of Journalism at New York University. Later in 2004, he received a fellowship from the Institute for Cultural Diplomacy in the San Fernando Valley.
