Gray Hall Biography
Gray Hall is an American two-time Emmy Award-winning news anchor and reporter for 6ABC News since he joined that station in December 2015. Hall followed his passion from an early age. He attended Dillard University in New Orleans, Louisiana to pursue a Bachelor’s degree.
During his college life, Gray played tennis and was a member of the Melton Foundation. In addition, he was a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated, and the National Association of Black Journalists.
After college, he started his broadcasting career as a production assistant for KTVT, the CBS affiliate based in Dallas, Texas. His first on-air job was at WABG in Greenville, Mississippi. He was a “one-man-band” and also the weekend anchor where he wrote, edited, and produced his own stories, and newscasts.
Prior to joining 6ABC, Gray worked at WWBT-TV in Richmond, Virginia as the anchor of the highest-rated weekday morning newscasts for five years. In addition, he was the station’s “On Your Side” consumer franchise. In this program, he took pride not only in delivering the news but also in educating consumers on the latest scams and frauds. Hall also had the opportunity to be an adjunct professor at Virginia Commonwealth University.
Before joining WWBT-Tv, he worked as a reporter and fill-in anchor at WTVJ in Miami, Florida. During this time, Gray covered various notable stories that included the Miami mortgage foreclosure crisis, and Fidel Castro’s resignation as Cuba’s president.
Moreover, he spent four years at WCBD-TV in Charleston, South Carolina as a weekend reporter and anchor. In Charleston, Hall was awarded the Green Eyeshade Award for a feature story. When he is not on the screens, Gray enjoys fishing, traveling, and watching movies.
