Harry Holm Biography
Harry Holm is an English actor and film director best known as the son of the late Ian Holm and Sophie Baker. His father Ian Holmes died on June 19, 2020, after a long fight with an illness related to Parkinson’s disease.
His first acting role was as a baby. In the 1981 BBC radio version of “Lord of the Rings”, Harry’s crying was used for the role of Elanor Gamgee, the daughter of Samwise.

Sir Ian Holm Cuthbert CBE, better known as Ian Holm, was an English actor who appeared on stage and in films. He won the Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Play in 1967 for his portrayal as Lenny in The Homecoming and the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Play in 1998 for his performance as King Lear.
He was nominated for an Academy Award for his portrayal as athletics trainer Sam Mussabini in Chariots of Fire, for which he won the 1981 BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role. Ash in Alien, Father Vito Cornelius in The Fifth Element, Chef Skinner in Ratatouille, Bilbo Baggins in The Lord of the Ring, and The Hobbit film series are among his other notable cinema appearances.
On June 19, 2020, Harry lost his father while in hospital after suffering from an illness related to Parkinson’s disease for a while. His agent confirmed the sad news to the public. Ian died at the age of 88 years.
