Heather Childers is a renowned American television news anchor famous as a former anchor of the first hour of Fox $ Friends First for Fox News Channel. She worked for Fox News from 2010 until 2020 when she moved to Newsmax Tv to co-anchor American Agenda.
Additionally, some of her awards include the National Academy of Television Journalists Best Female News Anchor. In 1987, Heather graduated from Myers Park High School. Childers continued her education at the University of Northern Carolina at Charlotte, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in English.
In the early 1990s, Childers began her professional career as a producer and reporter at WCNC-TV in Charlotte. She worked for television news stations in Albany, Georgia, and subsequently at WLOS, the ABC affiliate in Asheville, North Carolina. She became an anchor for News 14 Carolina in 2002.
Childers joined Fox News Channel as a reporter in November 2010 and was promoted to anchor for America’s News Headquarters in August 2011. She later worked for Fox as an early-morning host, starting in 2017 with the inaugural episode of Fox & Friends First, which aired from 4-5 a.m.

In April 2012, Childers tweeted a link to an article from a fringe website supporting “birther” conspiracy theories, claiming that the Barack Obama campaign had threatened Chelsea Clinton’s life if she mentioned “Obama’s birth certificate or lack thereof.” Childers said she was “asking for an opinion.” in reaction to criticism of the tweet. Childers, like other Fox News hosts, has questioned the scientific consensus on climate change, claiming on the air in 2016 that “the science is still in question.”
Fox News fired Childers in March 2020 after she reported to work and appeared on television while sick during the COVID-19 epidemic. After several months of not appearing on the network, the network revealed that her contract would be terminated in July 2020.
Childers had tested negative for COVID-19 and had asked to return to her job via Twitter multiple times. She announced on Twitter in November 2020 that she would be co-anchoring American Agenda on Newsmax TV with Bob Sellers.
