Isabel Lawrence is an American journalist who is currently working as a morning anchor and weekday reporter at WKYC in Cleveland, Ohio. She joined the station in November 2021. Lawrence comes to Northeast Ohio from Madison, where she worked as a weekday morning anchor at the NBC affiliate.
Born in Manhattan and raised in New York and Connecticut, she attended and graduated from Northwestern University. Here she graduated Cum Laude and majored in broadcast journalism. She also double-minored in sociology and political science.
While at the university, she spent a few months reporting in Charlottesville, Virginia, at CBS19. There, she covered the aftermath of the white supremacist rallies as well as the controversy surrounding Charlottesville’s Confederate statues.
Prior to anchoring the morning show in Madison, she was the lead reporter for the evening newscasts. Lawrence covered everything from kidnapping, to historic flooding, and more. While still in Madison, Lawrence won a Regional Murrow Award for her story about a woman making a difference in her community.
