Isis King is a popular American actress, fashion designer, and model. She is most notable for her role in both the eleventh cycle and the seventeenth cycle of the reality television show. Moreover, King is best known as the first transgender woman to compete in the reality T.V. show “America’s Next Top Model. As an actress, she is known for her appearance in movies such as “The Bold and the Beautiful”, “Strut,”, “When They See Us” and “With Love” (2021)
Talking about King’s education qualification, she attended high school at a local school in her hometown where she was considered gay. There she decides to change herself as she felt it did not suit her. Later after, she pursued an associate degree in design and illustration at the Atr Institute of Philadelphia. Isis was born and bought up in Prince George’s County, Maryland, United States.
After college King moved to New York to begin her transition from male to female, but didn’t have enough money as her family opposed her transition. Therefore, she moved into the Ali Forney Center for homeless LGBTQ youth. In the beginning, she worked as a receptionist at a hair salon, and as a program assistant for a nonprofit organization. Some years later, she was featured in the MSNBC special titled Born in the Wrong Body. The series documented the lives of transgender teens from across the United States.

That same year, Isis also started hormone replacement therapy as part of her transitioning process. In 2009, she had her gender reassignment surgery, which she stated on American’s Next Top Model: All-Stars. There she became one of the fourteen finalists for the eleventh cycle of the show before later being eliminated as the fifth overall. After being eliminated from the show, Isis began posing for a photography set primarily concentrated on the youth homeless, which became the catalyst for her returning for cycle 17.
There she returned together with her fellow contestant Sheena Sakai and represent their Cycle together on the first All-Star edition of the show. Moreover, there were also other twelve model contestants from past America’s Next Top Model cycles. During her time there, she was able to manage until she reached the semifinalist where she was eliminated. Apart from this, she also participated in the underground ball culture scene.
Moreover, King has also appeared in several fashion shows such as Amore Fashion, Colors Fall/Winter Line, and Image Fashion among others. She also modeled on the runway for several years.
