Jacey Birch Biography
Jacey Birch is an American journalist currently working as a traffic and weather presenter at WPLG Local 10 TV News. Birch anchors each weekday from 4.30 am to 7 am. Additionally, she is also proud to be the animal advocate for Local 10’s investigation team.
Birch joined Local 10 News in January 2004 and she is proud that many of her animal investigations have not only educated people but also changed laws on the books in Miami-Dade and Broward counties.

Birch got engaged to Trent Aric, a Local 10 meteorologist, in November 2014 with whom they had been in a relationship for about one year. The two had been great friends for several years but began dating in 2013.
On the day of the proposal, Jacey thought that she was coming to the studio to film an interview with the American Kennel Club little did she know that Aric was going to propose. She made her way to the set and found Aric on one knee. Surprisingly, her colleagues said that it is the only time they had seen her speechless.
Their wedding venue was at the emerald blue waters of Bora Bora Four Seasons Resort and they married on April 12, 2015. The couple has been blessed with one child, a son called Jupiter, born in September 2016. Unluckily, Jupiter was born with only one functioning kidney.

Birch filed a divorce against her husband of three years. This came about when she suffered bruises on her face according to a police report. She was also forced to take two days off from work. Her husband allegedly slugged her with a 30-ounce Yeti cup during an argument in the couples aging pickup truck. Aric was arrested hours later and charged with domestic battery, a misdemeanor.
Trent vanished from ABC affiliate after predicting for 13 years. He posted on his Facebook account a goodbye but he didn’t give out the reason. He is now unemployed and he is asking Birch for financial support.

Birch began his first job immediately after University in late 1999 when she served as a reporter at WBOY Network in Clarksburg, Virginia. Her role was to cover the expected disaster of the Y2K bug. Fortunately, her story won rave reviews. For about six months in that role, she made a move to Roanoke after being offered a role at WDBJ a Virginia Network. Birch worked as a weather reporter as well as covering entertainment stories.
Jacey shifted to work at WZTV in Nashville, Tennessee. It was during that time that she caught the eye producer in Florida. She was luckily offered a role with the Local 10 station and she jumped to the opportunity. Currently, she has been with Local 10 News for over ten years and she is responsible for their weather and traffic reports. Additionally, she fills in for the sports reporting segments when needed.
