Joe Dana is an American news anchor and watchdog investigative reporter for 12 News. He is a fourth-generation Arizonan who grew up In Glenda. During his 12 years career, Dana has received several reporting awards in print and broadcasting, including two first-place awards from the Division Nine Society of Professional Journalists.
As a teenager, Joe was already finding ways to cover news in the valley as a newspaper editor at Apollo High School in Glendale, and a youth reporter for The Arizona Republic. After high school, Joe joined the Institute of Political Journalism at Georgetown University.
Dana earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in print and broadcast journalism at Brigham Young University. He also worked for the Conservative News Service in Washington D.C. before joining the 12 News team.
During his career, Joe has covered issues ranging from education funding to capital murder trials. He is also investigative about polygamy in northern Arizona and immigration in southern Arizona. As a journalist, Dana has his first priority in holding politicians and power-brokers accountable for their actions.
When he is not working, Joe is a volunteer mentor and an ambassador for the mentoring program, Phoenix Youth at Risk. You can also spot him at one of the valley’s skateboard parks re-living his youth while trying to avoid serious injury.
