Jadiann Thompson is an American Emmy Award-winning journalist and news anchor, currently working for WHDH Channel 7 as a weekly news anchor. She can be seen live broadcasting the 4:00 p.m., 4:30 p.m., and 5:30 p.m. newscasts. Prior to joining WHDH Channel 7, Thompson worked as a weekend evening anchor at 41 Action News KSHB, KTWO TV, and as a multimedia journalist at KPHO, a Meredith Corporation.
Thompson graduated with a Bachelor of Arts, in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Arkansas. While in college, she interned as a Capitol Hill intern at Congressman John Boozman.
Thompson started her career as an English Teacher in Gredos San Diego. In February 2009, she officially started working as an anchor, reporter, and assistant news director. She worked at the station for more than two years before moving to KPHO, a Meredith Corporation. Thompson worked at KPHO as the station’s multimedia journalist and anchor between April 2011 and April 2013.
Working at KPHO opened many doors for Jadiann, exposing her to a lot of fieldwork and investigations. Notably, she unraveled the secrets involved in Joe Arpaio and Jadi Arias’s trials. Moreover, Thompson was a frontier journalist who told the world about Arizona’s largest wildfire state in history.
After serving the station for two years, Jadiann joined 41 Actions News KSHB, working as a weekday evening anchor. serving the station for over two years. At the station, she also worked as an in-house editor, content developer, and social media manager. Her newscast, Weekday Evening eventually became the highest-rated evening newscast show.
In June 2015, Jadiann joined WHDH-TV Channel 7 as a weekday anchor and member of the news team. She currently runs the 4-5:00 p.m. and 5:30-6 p.m. newscasts on weekdays.
