Jamie Durie Biography
Jamie Durie is an Australian horticulturalist and landscape designer, furniture designer, television host, television producer, and author of eleven books on landscape architecture, garden design, and lifestyle. In 2009, he hosted the dynamic design makeover show HGTV Showdown.
In 1988, Jamie founded the landscape design company, Patio Landscape Architecture, and Design. He also registered the Australian business company, JPD Medis & Design, in 2000. Durie made hosting appearances on the Australian reality show DIY Television Programs. He was the main host and the lead landscaper on the garden makeover program, Backyard Blitz, on the Nine Network from 2000 to 2005.
On the Nine Network, he was the host of the show The Block which ran for two consecutive seasons 2003 and 2006. He participated in the 6th Australian series of Dancing with the Stars in 2007, he was unfortunately removed in 7th place on 17 April 2007. In the same year, Jamie hosted a lifestyle garden program Australia’s Best Backyards on the Seven Network
Additionally, in 2007, he filmed lifestyle segments with Oprah Winfrey, on the Oprah Winfrey Network. He has also hosted the US PBS series The Victory Garden from 2007 to 2010, and the dynamic design makeover show HGTV Showdown on the HGTV network in 2009.

Jamie was also the host of the Australian lifestyle program The Outdoor Room, broadcast on Seven Network in 2008. Furthermore, he has co-presented as a visiting expert in gardening and landscaping, on the program Living Room since 2015. He was the quad-triple winner of the Logie Award for Most Popular Lifestyle Program, which airs on Network Ten. Recently in 2019, he joined the Australia Seven Network reality renovation series House Rules as a new judge.

Jamie’s mom is a busy woman who likes to be associated with several things, such as sewing, baking, bushwalking, and charity work for hospitals.

Secondly, he was then engaged to Siobhan Way, a jewelry designer. Durie did not give up that easily; he fell in love again with Nadine Bush, whom they eventually broke up with. Additionally, he got engaged to Lisa Christie. Due to Jamie’s cheating, Lisa broke off the engagement.
Furthermore, he has a daughter, Taylor, with his ex-girlfriend Michelle Glenrock. The two met when they were both 18 and became parents in their mid 20’s.

With his furniture design, he has worked for Hollywood celebrity clients such as designing 100 pieces of furniture for an American talk show, comedian Chelsea Handler and designing garden landscapes for Charlize Theron the actress.
