Jason Gaskell Biography
Jason Gaskell is an American TV personality who is known for appearing in the reality show Below Deck Mediterranean season 7. In the show, he played the role of deckhand alongside his new crews including Natalya Scudder, Raygan Tyler, and Dave White among others. Currently, Gaskell works as a skipper in his own boat after leaving his finance job. Furthermore, he is also the owner of Sextant Sailing and Sextant Consulting.
Jason was born and raised in Valparaiso, Indiana, United States. After completing high school, he received a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Accounting from Purdue University. In addition, he also holds a Master’s degree in Economics from Texas A&M University-Commerce in 2020. That same year, he earned Yachtmaster Certification from Royal Yachting Association. Shortly after graduation, he began his career in finance. In 2002, he founded the Gaskell Stringing Service and ran the company until 2008. Moreover, he also worked as an intern at Scannell Wealth Management Group (LLC).
After that, Gaskell served as a staff auditor at Lane Gorman Trubitt before later joining the MMD Holds as the controller. He worked there for two years and then joined Essilor as a Senior Financial Analyst till 2014. From then, Jason worked at Ambit Energy as the Senior Trading& Financial Rick Analyst. During his time there, he was in charge of the primary analyst and sole power trader responsible for trading $ 750+ million a year. Besides that, he also exposed Ambit’s power division along with analyzing and managing the overall position.
Also, he created a curve model for all power markets, price automation tools, and ICE RTD models for both Power& Gas markets among other things.
