Mike Trim is an American broadcast journalist currently working as a news anchor and reporter for WPTV News based in West Palm Beach, Florida. He joined the station back in early 2010 after completing a two-year tenure at WBNG News in Binghamton, New York City. Trim even worked as a fill-in anchor for WBRE News which is an NBC affiliate based in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Therefore, he has over seventeen years of experience working as an on-air news anchor and reporter.
Trim was born in a suburban neighborhood situated in St.Louis, Missouri but he was raised in Hermann, Missouri. He grew up as a very clever kid who always dreamed of being a reporter ever since he was in elementary school. Trim was also an avid sports fan who played football and soccer in elementary school. After completing his high school studies, Mike enrolled at Temple University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism and communication and enlisted in the United States Navy.
Mike first began his career in the Navy back in 1997 working as an Information System Technician operating the guided Destroyer USS McFaul until he left in 2002. The following year Mike kicked off his career as a journalist by working at WBNG News as a news reporter and anchor based in Binghamton New York. He also filled in as a substitute news anchor whenever his colleagues were on leave. Mike was able to cover various news updates surrounding the Southern Tier of Upstate New York and two Pennsylvania countries. In 2007, Trim left WBNG News and joined WBRE as a full-time news reporter. He was able to cover various news updates surrounding North Pennsylvania like Scranton and Wilkes-Barre for three years before joining WPTV News back in 2010.
