Jen Herrera is an American Journalist, On-Air Host, News Anchor, Reporter, Producer, Content Creator, Author and adjunct professor at American Heritage Schools Plantation. Currently, she is a freelance On-Air Host, News Anchor, Reporter, Producer, Content Creator & Author at Jen Herrera TV since April 2023. Previously, Jen was working at NBC6 South Florida since joining the station in April 2018. In addition, she co-hosted Six in the Mix- a daily, live, entertainment, and lifestyle show in South Florida.

Most notably, Jen knew she wanted to pursue journalism as a professional career at a very young age. She was involved in the Newspaper Club and throughout her middle school the Yearbook Club. Jen got her first internship before her freshman year at ABC WPLG in Miami. She ended up working at this station for the first 15 years of her career. Her most memorable assignment was being sent to Cuba in 2012 to cover Pope Benedict XVI’s visit to the island. Recently, Jen became a published author. She wrote “Are Your Fake Boobs Making You Sick?” after her health issues, and eventually decided to remove her breast implants.
Moreover, Herrera has more than 15 years of journalistic experience in South Florida. Before joining NBC6, she worked at the local ABC affiliate, WPLG, as a news anchor for several of the station’s newscasts during her 11-year tenure. Jen has travelled the country covering national news, including natural disasters. She also covered the NBA Finals in Dallas and Oklahoma.
Further, Jen’s work at Cirque Du Soilel headquarters in Montreal, Canada, earned Herrera her first Emmy Nomination. Her second came when she was one of only two South Florida journalists who reported Pope Benedict XVI’s historic visit to local audiences live from Havana, Cuba.

In 2013, Herrera was diagnosed with an extremely rare autoimmune disease. She was told that she would never be able to go in the sun again. Additionally, she was told that there was a chance her muscles would stop functioning the way they were supposed to. This was just a small portion of the diagnosis.
At this time, she has red, raised rashes all over her body including her face. Due to the soreness of her joints, she could not do basic movements. After a long process of elimination, she decided to remove her breast implants. She had surgery in November 2017.
Since then, it has become a bit of a mission for her to inform other women that their breast implants could be negatively affecting their health.
