Joy Redmond is an American journalist who is currently working as a weekday morning anchor at Action News 5 in Memphis, Tennessee since joining the station in July 2018. Prior to joining her current station, she worked as a traffic reporter and anchor for WJBK FOX 2 in Detroit, Michigan, and WOIO in Cleveland, Ohio.
In addition, Joy served as an anchor and reporter for KQDS Fox 21 for one year. While here, she obtained two Society of Professional Journalist awards including one for an investigation piece called “High in the hallways” which revealed the truth regarding teens’ misuse of prescription drugs. She has also interned at WLNS and WXYZ on the Michigan market.
On the other hand, her career began at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan where she served as a Trainer and consultant, customer service representative as well as assistant manager, and team leader II. She is a proud graduate of the University of Michigan. In addition, she is a former member of the Junior League and also a board member of Mississippi Families for Kids.
