Judy Hsu Biography
Judy Hsu is an American Award-Winning Journalist who is currently working as an anchor and reporter at WLS-TV, ABC7 in Chicago. She anchors the station’s 11 am News with Terrelle Brown. In addition, she hosts long interviews that are aired on Sunday mornings called Newsviews and she has proven to be a journalist with one of the finest deliveries in the broadcast industry.
She was thrilled to return to her hometown to join ABC 7 as the weekday anchor of the station’s 4:30-7 newscasts. Hsu helped lead the morning show for 15 years before her promotion to the afternoon and early evening. She has been part of just every major story in Chicago either reporting in the neighborhoods or anchoring from the news desk.
Hsu has reported live from the White House bringing ABC viewers extensive coverage of her one-on-one interview with President Barack Obama before he left the Oval Office. While a beginner reporter in California, she covered the O.J. Simpson verdict live from the L. A courthouse and she was one of the youngest to fly with the Blue Angels.

Her work has garnered multiple Emmys including awards for breaking news coverage and for her work on ABC7’s programming specials Asian Influences and Magnificent Mile Lights Festival. To date, she has received nearly two dozen Emmy nominations.
Prior to joining her current station, she anchored the 4 pm weekday newscast at KFMB-TV in San Diego. She also served as the station’s weekend anchor and general assignment reporter. Born in Taipei, she remains fluent in Mandarin.
She received a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. In addition, she began her broadcasting career at the campus radio station, WPGU-FM. Later on, she landed an internship with legendary Chicago anchor Walter Jacobson and got her first TV job with WCIA in Champaign.
