Kandra Kent Biography
Kandra Kent is an Emmy-nominated American journalist born and brought up in Oregon, Washington, and she is thrilled to serve the communities living in the Pacific Northwest. You can find Kent hustling after breaking news and digging deep to share important stories Sunday through Thursday on KPTV Fox 12 Oregon. Kandra joined the Fox News team back in February of 2016.
Before joining FOX 12 News, Kent spent almost four years as a reporter in Bend. She began her journalism career there as an intern at KTVZ where she was later employed. Additionally, while in Bend, Kandra reported on the catastrophic Canyon Creek wildfire, the fatal shooting as well as the occupation of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge.
Kandra was brought up in the shadow of Mt. St. Helens in Toutle, Washington, a community without a city government, no traffic lights, a big heart for small-town sports. Kent landed her first taste of professional journalism while interning briefly at the Daily News in Longview. She spent her youth running around in the woods, hitting the slopes at Mt. Hood as well as engaging in track and field.
Moreover, Track took Kent to Clark College in Vancouver on athletic and academic scholarships. She later graduated with an Associate in Arts degree and then left the Penguins to become a Cougar at Washington State University.

While there, Kandra took part in the student-run Cable 8 News and served for the university’s marketing department. Kent majored in Broadcast News and Political Science and graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Edward R. Murrow College of Communication back in 2012.
At home, Kent is “Mama” to a spunky child and is expecting another little boy. Kandra and her husband love to take their son on trips and adventures, near and far.
