Karen Devine Biography
Karen Devine is an American journalist who is currently working as an investigative reporter for KESQ News Channel 3, the ABC affiliate and FOX in the Coachella Valley since October 2009. She anchors at 5, 6, 10, and 11 pm Monday through Friday. In addition, she is the only female member of the station’s I-team, an investigative reporting unit.
Prior to joining her current station, she worked for an NBC-affiliate station in Palm Springs, California, KMIR-TV as a news reporter and anchor for 17 years and 9 months.
In her career, she has won a number of awards. She has won Emmy Awards, several Regional Edward R. Murrow honors, a Palm Springs Chamber of Commerce Athena Award, and a Golden Mike Award. Furthermore, she was voted “Woman of the Year” in 2019, by Assemblyman Chad Mayes, a representative of the 42nd District.
Recently, she was awarded the Silver Circle Award by the National Academy of Television, Arts, and Sciences. Following her education, she is a graduate of California State University in Fullerton, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Television, Radio, and Film, with a focus in Broadcast Journalism in 1990.
When not working, Karen can be found volunteering in the community. Karen is a member of The Girlfriend Factor, the Palm Springs Women in Film and Television Advisory Board. She also hosts dozens of events each year and volunteers her time in local schools to teach students TV Journalism.
