Kate Bolduan Biography
Kate Bolduan is an American broadcast journalist presently working as the anchor of At This Hour with Kate Bolduan at CNN. Additionally, Bolduan also anchors the State of America with Kate Bolduan on CNN International.
Previously, Kate worked as a co-anchor for the CNN program New Day and The Situation Room. She also served as a congressional correspondent based in Washington, D.C. and a general assignment correspondent for the network.
Before moving to CNN, Bolduan was previously a co-anchor of The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer. Here she was able to provide current events, breaking news, political headlines, and reports within lively discussions during the two-hour program.
Bolduan studied at Goshen High School which is a public high school in her home city. Later, she joined George Washington University. She studied and graduated Phi Beta Kappa in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in journalism.
During her time at George Washington University, Bolduan walked on to the women’s volleyball team and acted with the student theatre organization. While still in school, she spent time in Madrid, Spain. She was able to learn and speak Spanish because of that.

Bolduan started her career at CNN as a national correspondent for CNN Newsource in 2007. She provided breaking news coverage and feature reports for a large number of CNN Newsource affiliates.
In addition, in 2008, Bolduan most notably covered the United States presidential election. She traveled throughout the United States covering other news making headlines like the Minneapolis Bridge collapse, the O.J. Simpson armed robbery case, and the retiring NASA Space Shuttle fleet.
Moreover, she joined CNN’s new morning show titled ‘At This Hour’ which premièred on January 26, 2015. The show covers various news stories of the day and airs weekdays from 11 a.m. to noon ET.
In addition, Bolduan was named anchor of ‘The State of America with Kate Bolduan’. It is a CNN International program that covered the 2016 U.S. Presidential campaign for a global audience. Moreover, after the 2016 election, the program was renamed and pivoted to focus on U.S. news and affairs. State of America airs on Fridays at 23:00 CET.
