Kate Welshofer is an American award-winning news anchor and correspondent working for WGRZ. She joined WGRZ as a weekday reporter in early 2018, joining the 2 On Your Side team in January 2018. Currently, Kate anchor Most Buffalo on weekdays at 4 pm.
Kate attended Perry Central High School. She then joined St. Bonaventure University to pursue a B.A. degree in Journalism/Communications.
She spent over ten years working as a news reporter, fill-in anchor, and producer at R News, Time Warner Cable in New York. After taking a break from the media, Kate returned to television as a news anchor for Spectrum News, formerly called Time Warner Cable where she works to date. At the station, Welshofer delivers weeknight newscasts, special coverage, and breaking news for communities throughout Albany, Syracuse, Binghamton, and Watertown.
In addition, Kate started her own YouTube channel in September 2013 where she creates her own content. She shoots, produces, and edits a weekly character-driven online video series that features relatable comedy and entertainment to celebrate the lighter and sometimes silly side of life.
In January 2018, Kate joined WGRZ-TV in Buffalo, New York as a news anchor and co-creator of Most Buffalo. She hosts the program to date.
