Katherine Kelly is an English actress and presenter who rose to prominence after portraying Becky McDonald in ITV soap opera Coronation Street between 2006 and 2012. For this role, she won multiple awards including National Television Award for Best Serial Drama Performance.
Born in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, she grew up in both South Yorkshire and the United States. She made her TV debut in 2003, appearing on Last of the Summer Wine. Later on, she starred in ITV soap opera Coronation Street. After leaving Coronation Street in 2012, she starred as Miss Hardcastle in She Stoops to Conquer at the National Theatre.
In 2018, she made her first film appearance since 2009 in Dirty God playing Lisa. Kelly appeared in the feature film Official Secrets In 2019. In Official Secrets, she plays Jacqueline Jones. The same year, she appeared in an episode of Flack, as Brooke. Kelly even portrayed Leah in the four-part ITV drama Cheat.
