Kathy Park Biography
Kathy Park is an American News Correspondent currently working at NBC News. She joined the station in 2018. Before joining NBC, she worked at KCRA 3 as a weekend evening anchor and general assignment reporter since July 2014.
She previously anchored and reported the news in our nation’s capital. She covered many high-profile events at WJLA for six years, such as inaugurations for President Barack Obama, the Navy Yard shooting, and the Blizzard of 2010, which fortunately earned her an Emmy nomination.
Park graduated from the University of Maryland with a bachelor of arts degree in journalism and a minor in psychology. Furthermore, while she was at the school, she reported for the award-winning Capital News Service.
Park began her career in Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia at WCYB/Fox Tri-Cities. Her first opportunity was at a local newsroom at a CBS affiliate in Phoenix, where she worked as a Meredith-Cronkite fellow.
Additionally, Kathy worked as a reporter for WCYB/WENT/CW4 for one year, working as a general reporter. Previously, she worked as an anchor at ABC7 for six years. In our nation’s capital, she anchored news reports and breaking news.
Currently, Park is the anchor and reporter for Heart Television or KCRA 3 as the weekend evening news anchor. In August 2018, Kathy joined NBC News as a news correspondent. In addition, Park enjoys volunteering and is a member of the Asian American Journalists Association. She always interned at Hardball with Chris Matthews on MSNBC and the DIY Network.
