Katy Tur is a renowned American author and broadcast journalist who is currently working as a correspondent for NBC News. Tur is an anchor for MSNBC Live and has reported for the NBC news platforms Early Today, Today, NBC Nightly News, Meet the Press, WNBC-TV, MSNBC, and The Weather Channel.
Katy attended Brentwood School where she graduated in 2001. She then graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy in 2005.
Before joining NBC News, Tur reported for KTLA, HD News/Cablevision, News 12 Brooklyn, WPIX-TV, and Fox 5 New York. Later on, Katy to work as a storm chaser for The Weather Channel on the network’s VORTEX2 team.

In her 18 months covering the 2016 presidential election, Tur conducted multiple in-depth interviews with then-candidate Donald Trump from his campaign headquarters. She toured 40 states and logged nearly 4,000 live television appearances.
In 2017, Katy received the Walter Cronkite Award for Excellence in Television Political Journalism for her reporting on the election. Before joining the NBC political team in 2016, Tur was a foreign correspondent based in London for NBC News. Katy joined NBC News in 2012 and was initially based in New York.
Prior to that, Tur worked for WNBC, The Weather Channel, WPIX, and News12 Brooklyn.
In September 2017, Katy published a book, Unbelievable: My Front-Row Seat to the Craziest Campaign in American history, recounting her experience in covering the 2016 presidential campaign of Donald Trump.
