King Kaka Biography

Rapper King Kaka was born Kennedy Tarriq Ombina on May 7, 1987, in Nairobi, Kenya. As a Kenyan musician, the renown star has majored in Hip Hop with a strong base in oral prose and poetry. He works as a songwriter, video director, and executive producer in his own music production, The Kaka Empire studios.

Kennedy is also a prosperous entrepreneur having been chosen by Safaricom PLC to mentor the youth in business through the BYOB youth platform.

However, just like any other noble Kenyan, King Kaka started from a humble background. Born in Nairobi, he attended St. Johns Primary School where he qualified to join Eastleigh High School for his secondary education. Additionally, due to his love and passion for music at an early age, he was chosen as the entertainment captain in the latter school. During this period, his impact could be felt by the numerous talent search programs he had in place.

After school, he had to struggle to make ends meet as he was raised by a noble single mother. He worked as a hawker where he severally met the City askaris. They frequently cuffed him.

It is evident that King Kaka has mentioned her mother on many occasion thanking her for the struggles she made to see him succeed.

The music star had his debut in the music career through his album, Tales of Kaka Sungura. In this major album, he featured the tracks; Niko kwa jam nakam and Dodoma. This gave him high hopes in the industry as it brought a positive response despite its Swahili dialect. He soon became the most anticipated Rapper in the region with his poetic style of music.

With songs like Uko Chua, Swahili Shakespear, and Adisia, King Kaka had his music fans amass to hundreds of thousands with some of the hits becoming street anthems. One interesting thing about the star was also his dress code, knitted headgears were definitely his identity.

Far from his music career, the star is also a lecturer at Zetech University. He teaches Entrepreneurship, Mentorship, and the Music faculty.

Of late, the music star has hit the Kenyan music space with a debut hit, Wajinga Nyinyi. This track has had different reactions from his fans. The hit shuns all the evil deeds and corrupt practices happening in the country. Talk of poor governance and corruption, Unemployment, unethical church practices, among other ills affecting Kenyan Citizens.

This has welcomed a lot of criticism to the point where the star claimed that he has been threatened.
