Larry Ellison is an American business magnate and investor who rose to fame as the chief technology officer and founder of a famous software giant called Oracle Corporations. He is also popularly known as the sixth wealthiest man in the world by Bloomberg Billionaires Index since February 2023. Larry is estimated to be worth around $102.6 billion as of 2023. He even owns around 98% ownership of other successful business ventures based in Lanai which is currently ranked as the sixth largest island in Hawaii.
Ellison was born to Jewish parents living in The Bronx, New York City but he was raised in Chicago, Illinois. He also grew up in a very intellectual family with his father working as a pilot. Larry was diagnosed with pneumonia at the age of nine months and could not handle it when he was sick. Therefore, Ellison’s biological parents gave him to his relatives for adoption.
Larry never met his biological parents until he was forty. He attended and graduated from South Shore High School based in Chicago. In 1977, Ellison was able to launch his first-ever venture as a white paper-led product called Oracle.
Oracle then grew and became a database vendor to mid and low-range systems by the time it was 1978 and 1994. Ellison’s company went through various changes before it became the Oracle corporation in the 1980s. Since then, Larry has worked with Steve Jobs, IBM, and My SQL and appeared in The Wall Street Journal for his incredible success as a business magnate.
