Larry Sprinkle is an American meteorologist who presently works as a weather anchor at the WCNC, an NBC affiliate, on weekday mornings from 4:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. Sprinkle formerly worked as a morning weather anchor at WAYS |WROQ in Charlotte for 13 years.
He studied and graduated from Greenville, North Carolina’s East Carolina Campus. While studying in Ethiopia, Larry worked as a radio announcer.
He’s covered everything from hurricanes on the Carolina coast to tornadoes in the Piedmont, winter storms in the mountains, and a few 100-degree days on the weather patio over the last 36 years.
Sprinkle has been a part of the station since the mid-1970s, when he hosted weekend movie specials and made station announcements and advertising, despite commencing full-time in 1985.
