Rachel Brown Biography
Rachel Brown is an American journalist currently working as the weekend morning co-anchor and a general assignment reporter for ABC7 Eyewitness News. She joined WABC-TV in June 2019 from WCNC-TV and is thrilled to be a member of Los Angeles’ number one news team.
A Chicago native, Rachel received a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Illinois. Moreover, she pursued a master’s degree in communication management and graduated from Northwestern University a year later.
Brown landed her first reporting job in South Bend, Indiana. While there, she received her first Emmy nomination for her reporting during a winter storm. Her next move landed her south to Charlotte, North Carolina where she joined NBC Charlotte and served as a weekday evening anchor and nightside reporter for three years.
During her time in Charlotte, Rachel volunteered weekly at Levine Children’s Hospital as a Child Life Specialist. Her main goal was to make children feel as happy and comfortable as possible during their stay at the hospital. This describes Rachel’s passion for children.
Brown is very pleased to serve Southern California. She even looks forward to more volunteering opportunities, trying new restaurants, and exploring all Los Angeles has to offer.
