Layron Livingston Biography
Layron Livingston is an American Emmy Award-winning journalist currently working as an anchor and reporter at WPLG Local 10 News. He joined the WPLG team in January 2016 as a reporter and consumer advocate with his regular segment, “Leave it Layron.” Livingston co-anchors the weekend morning newscasts alongside Neki Mohan.
Despite joining the station, previously, he worked at WHIO-TV Dayton’s News station as an anchor and reporter. At WHIO, he reported news such as the heroin and prescription drug epidemic in Southwest Ohio, which earned him an Emmy award in 2014. Previously, Layron anchored and reported at KLTV Tyler, located in Texas.
Additionally, while he was still on campus, he reported for the student-led, student-run television station. Luckily, he became a production assistant at the local NBC affiliate in Austin. Later on, he worked as a writer and researcher while participating in the Bill Archer Fellowship Program at the WRC-TV Washington consumer unit. Moreover, Layron interviewed presidential candidates at Local 10 and helped the team with the coverage of the tragic Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando.
Livingston attended the University of Texas at Austin and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in journalism with a government concentration. During Layron’s free time, he likes to drive and also sing.
