Leah McSweeney is an American Fashion designer, Entrepreneur and TV personality who rose to fame for starring on Bravo TV’s The Real Housewives of New York City (RHONY) from 2020 to 2021. She is also the founder of her own women’s cloth line called Married To The Mob (MTTM) which was first launched back in 2004. Leah joined the cast members of RHONY after making several appearances in other reality tv series like The Millionaire Match Matchmaker and Vh1’s Love & Hip Hop: New York where she received critical acclaim and fame from viewers and trolls on the internet.
McSweeney was born in the small town of Manhattan, New York City but she was brought up in Newton, Connecticut. She grew up as a very jovial and smart young girl who enjoyed playing with her mother’s wardrobe when she was home alone at the age of ten and twelve. Leah attended the Convent of the Sacred Heart Catholic School located in the Upper East Side of New York City. She then moved to the upper suburbs of Newtown. Connecticut with her family when she was only fourteen years old. Leah finished her high school education in Newtown and proceeded to join college. However, she suffered several injuries after encountering a physical altercation with the New York Police Department while she was in her third year in college back in 2002.
Leah began her career by launching her own business called Married to the Mob (MTTM). MTTM was formed as a streetwear clothing line that upgrades its fashion taste according to the different fashionable streetwear trends that began in the early 2000s. She also made several collaborations since it was launched like the infamous Kangol Cashmere beanie cup and the Kaw two-piece graphic swimsuit.

McSweeney even landed a luxurious business deal with a German accessory brand called MCM and Rench Boutique Collette. All these collaborations stamped her name in the fashion industry as a successful streetwear fashion designer. She then went on to land other fashion collaborations with Nike who helped her improve MTTM’s success in the market.
Due to the success of MTTM, Leah made her first on-screen debut as a reality TV star by appearing in an episode of Bravo Tv’s The Millionaire Matchmaker. Leah’s appearance on the show earned her fame as a critically acclaimed reality TV star. Therefore, she proceeded to play a cameo on VH1’s Love & Hip Hop New York which also earned her fame. In 2019, Leah appeared on BravoCon where she met various producers and former reality Tv stars of The Real Housewives of New York City (RHONY). Her interaction with one of Bravo’s producers earned her a sign to be part of the show’s latest season set to be released in 2020. She appeared in RHONY’s twelfth and thirteenth seasons but McSweeney refused to renew a contract with the show until her salary was increased to $3000 per episode. Bravo TV declined the offer and Leah left the RHONY.
In 2023, McSweeney has been spotted starring in the third season of Peacock’s The Real Housweices Ultimate Girls Trip. Her other latest projects include launching her own podcast called The Leah McSweeney Show on YouTube and other online platforms.
