Lisa Byington is an American journalist who is currently working as a play-by-play television announcer for Milwaukee Bucks, the NBA champion. Prior to joining the Bucks in September 2021, she was working for NBA Sports as a play-by-play announcer for both men’s and women’s soccer during the Tokyo Olympics in 2021.
In relation to her education, Byington graduated from Portage Northern High School. Later on, she attended Northwestern University where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in print journalism. At the university, she played both basketball and soccer games. After completing her undergraduate degree, she earned a Master’s degree in broadcast journalism at Northwestern University in Evanson, Illinois.
Following her graduation, she started her career in Alpena, Michigan for WBKB. After two years at WBKB, she left and joined WLNS in Lansing as a reporter. Throughout her career as a broadcast, she has also worked as a play-by-play announcer for ESPN, Fox Sports, Big Ten Networks, SEC Network, Turner Sports, FS1, and PAC-12 Pac-12 Network.
