Lydia Camarillo is an American journalist who presently works as a morning anchor at KGUN 9 On Your Side. Along with Mark Charter, Camarillo co-anchors Good Morning Tucson. In February 2020, she began working at the station.
From 2012 to 2019, she worked as a morning and lunchtime anchor/reporter at KOLD-TV News 13, a CBS affiliate. She worked at the station on a number of projects that highlighted members of the community, as well as serving as a family finder for children in foster care. Camarillo also worked as an intern for KTAR 92.3 FM, KTVK, and CBS 5’s KPHO.
She has received several awards over her career, including the Hearst Radio Reporting Award and the Meredith Cronkite Fellowship in 2012. Lydia has also worked as a volunteer at Cronkite NewsWatch En Espanol, where she did voiceovers and translated written items into Spanish. Lydia also possesses Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and video graphing skills, as well as being a native Spanish speaker.
