Matt Barrie is an Emmy Award-winning American sportscaster for ESPN’s SportsCenter since he joined the network in March 2013. Currently, he is the host of ESPN College Football alongside analysts Joey Galloway and Jesse Palmer on Thursday primetime pre-show and halftime show. Previously, Barrie worked for various channels such as WLTX-TV, KXAS, WJFW-TV, AND KSWO-TV. He is also a golf commentator for ESPN’s coverage of The Masters and PGA Championship.
Born and brought up in Scottsdale, Arizona, United States, Matt attended school at Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona States University. There he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism. In addition, he was inducted into the school’s Alumni Hall of Fame in 2020. Soon after graduation, Barrie began his professional career as a reporter for WJFW-TV in Wausau, Wisconsin. There he served for a year and covered the story about the Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers.
Thereafter, he joined KSWO-TV in Lawton, Oklahoma as a sportscaster and reporter. From 2003 to 2004, he covered the Big 12 championship and BCS National Championship games. During his period there, he hosted the weekly Saturday Night Blitz and co-hosted the Matt and Tim Show on 1400-am. Moreover, he also anchored Friday-Monday sportscasts and provided live coverage from the Independence Bowl and Liberty Bowl.

In 2013, he moved and joined ESPN as a co-host of the SportsCenter at noon ET al alongside Sage Steele.
