Maurice DuBois is an American journalist and news anchor who is currently working for CBS-2 News, co-anchoring the 5 and 11 news. He joined the station in September 2004, getting recognition as one of the best journalists in New York. For his excellent work, DuBois is a holder of community and Emmy awards.
DuBois attended Port Jefferson High School before joining Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism. In College, he served as an intern at the Public Affairs Office of the Brookhaven National Laboratory, Long Island.
DuBois started his career at KING-TV in Seattle, Washington, in 1987 where he worked as a desk assistant. Soon after, she worked as an anchor and reporter at WFLD-TV in Chicago, Illinois, then at KCRA-TV in Sacramento, California. He spent seven years in New York, working at WNBC-TV, the East Coast flagship station of the NBC television network.
At WNBC, Maurice served as a co-anchor of Today in New York, an early morning local news and entertainment program. At the same time, he hosted Four Stories, a television news-magazine program featuring community heroes as well as Mind Over Media, a special program for Court-TV for students to understand media images.
Moreover, Maurice worked as a substitute newsreader on NBC News’s Today as well as a substitute co-host and newsreader on its weekend editions. He joined WCBS-TV in September 2004, the East Coast flagship station of the CBS network located in New York, as one of its 6 pm anchors, CBS 2 News at 6 with Dana Tyler.
Since then, he has co-anchored CBS 2 News This Morning and CBS 2 News at Noon with Cindy Hsu and Mary Calvi. In January 2011, he began co-anchoring CBS 2 News at 5 and CBS 2 News at 11 with Kristine Johnson. He is also a substitute for the weekend edition of the CBS Evening News.
