Michael Shure is an American journalist currently working as a national correspondent for Nexstar Media Group’s national newscast on NewsNation. Prior to joining Nexstar, Shure was the Senior National Correspondent and Anchor for i24NEWS and an original member of, and regular host on The Young Turks.

Michael was the host of the network’s online 2012 election show, twenTYTwelve. Moreover, he hosted Current TV’s The War Room with Michael Shure, a one-hour political commentary program that aired live Monday through Thursday. Later on. Shure joined AL Jazeera America as the station’s chief Political Correspondent until its closure in 2016.

Shure was born and raised in New York City. He attended Trinity School in New York City and the University of Virginia. During the 1988 presidential elections, Shure was Florida press secretary for the Dukakis/Bentsen presidential campaign. Shure joined i24NEWS, the US part of the international Israel-based news network, as Senior National Correspondent and Anchor in 2017. Shure has starred in the movie The Thing Called Love, House Party 3, and Showgirls as an actor. He also had an appearance on HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm in an episode.
