Esteban was born and raised by a working-class family living on the outskirts of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States. Michelle began her career in broadcasting back in May 1989 by working as a news anchor and reporter for WTOV News in Steubenville, Ohio after her college graduation. Michelle left Ohio and moved to Pittsburgh to work as a news reporter for WPIX News in 1994. In 1997, Michelle left WPXI News and joined ABC 15 Arizona as a news correspondent and reporter.
