Nate Griffin is an American journalist who presently works for KRIVE-TV, Fox 26 Morning News Houston, as a general assignment reporter and sports analyst. Despite joining Fox 26, he has spent more than 25 years covering high school, collegiate, and professional sports in Houston and the surrounding areas on television, radio, and digital media.
Griffin began his career as a producer, weekday reporter, and anchor at KTRH 740 AM in 1989. Nate also worked as a college basketball public address announcer as a radio and television color analyst for high school and college football and basketball broadcasts during that time.
Furthermore, the experience led to a position as a weekday reporter and weekend anchor at KBMT-TV, an ABC affiliate in Beaumont, Texas. He served as a web reporter for the Houston Texans in addition to his other obligations as a college football and basketball color analyst for regional and national TV networks. The former Southern Mississippi wide receiver is currently in his 12th season as the color analyst for Rice Owls radio football broadcasts.
Griffin has also worked as a radio color analyst for IMG/Rice Football since August 2008. Since August 2016, he has also hosted a sports radio discussion program on Sportsman 94.1 FM in Houston, Texas. From August 2008 to June 2014, Griffin worked as a TV color analyst for Comcast Sports Southwest. From July 2008 through December 2012, Nate worked as a sports columnist for CSS Sports. In addition, from August 2007 to April 2008, he worked as a Webcast reporter for www.houstontexans.com.
