Bryson Lashun Potts also known by his stage name NLE Choppa is an American rapper, songwriter, and social media influencer. He rose to fame in 2019 after his release, ‘Shotta Flow’ which went viral on the internet earning him over 10 million views in a month. The song also reached No.33 and 81 on the ‘Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs’ chart and ‘Billboard Hot 100’ chart. Apart from this, Lashu is also popular for his debut studio album Top Shotta as well as for his singles like “Camelot” and “Walk Em Down”. Currently, he is among the youngest artist who is making waves in the industry.
Talking about his educational qualification, Bryson completed his study at Cordova High School where he played basketball. At the age of 14, he began freestyling and rapping with friends for fun and officially launched his rap career at the age of 15 in 2018. He released his first single, “No Love Anthem,” and debut mixtape, No Love the Takeover, under his moniker before changing his name to NLE Choppa. Early, he used the name YNR Choppa which is unclear what it means however Choppa is his nickname.

Following his success, he went on to release the second sequel of the song “Shotta Flow 2” which become a major hit like the latter one earning him over 20 million views within two months. Furthermore, he was in a conflict after he turned down offers from renowned companies like, Interscope Records, Caroline, and Republic Records but instead accepted a contract with the independent distribution company, UnitedMasters.
Later after, Potts released a new single called “Capo”, accompanied by a music video debuting on Worldstarhiphop. That same year, he appeared on Birdman and Juvenile’s song “Dreams” as well as released another single, “Birdboy”. Moreover, Bryson has also performed at the Beale Street Music Festival in Memphis. Afterward, he went on to release another major hit single called “Camelot” which reached No.37 in the US, becoming his second Top 40 hit. Prior to rapping, NLE Choppa is also passionate about philanthropic work and explains that giving back to his community in Memphis makes him happy.
