Paul Caiano is a renowned American meteorologist currently working as a meteorologist for WNYT News Channel 13 which is an NBC-affiliate television station.
Paul Caiano Career
Caiano has been with the WNYT station for almost 25 years, and for the past 17 years, with the Capital Region’s No. 1-morning show. He likes sports and he currently spends much time coaching his two daughters, though he spends some time at a nearby ice rink or softball field.
In 1989, Caiano moved to the Capital Area to research meteorology at Albany’s Atmospheric Science Department University. He began working at WNYT immediately after graduating, ever since, he has adopted the Capital City as his new home. Additionally, at the age of 11 years, he got his first job as a “paperboy.” He delivered 60 newspapers to clients and made around $50 per week.
Nice enough at the end of his path, to purchase baseball cards and play Pac-Man at the stationery shop. Caiano is the Tanglewood Music Center’s official meteorologist in Lenox, Mass. To keep them updated on any approaching extreme weather, he works closely with the director of Tanglewood facilities to keep large numbers safe at the outdoor venue. After he rubbed the unique Delaware River Rubbing Mud on the baseballs used during a Yankee match in May 1996, h was part of the baseball history.
A treat in and of itself for Paul’s big Yankee fan and it also turned out to be a no-hitter game pitched by Dwight Gooden. He was very proud to provide weather forecasts on a regular basis for WAMC Public Radio. Similarly, Ray Falconer, the first member of the Atmospheric Science Research Center in Albany, originated the study many years ago. Most specifics in his report started with Ray and were carried on by Mike Landin over the years and later passed on to him.
Paul’s first job in the Capital Region, was at Garcia’s Mexican Restaurant, working as a waiter serving margaritas and burritos. On the connection between cloud-to-ground lightning strikes and violent tornadoes, Caiano carried out research at UAlbany. Furthermore, during his junior year, he was honored with the Presidential and Honors Convocation Awards.
