Renée Elise Goldsberry Biography
Renée Elise Goldsberry is an American actress and singer who rose to fame for her role as Angelica Schuyler in a Broadway musical known as Hamilton. She is also known for playing the main role of attorney Mallory Brook role on Marvel’s 2022 series, She-Hulk. Elise has also won several awards for her main roles like playing Geneva Pine on The Good Wife, Evangeline Williamson on One Life to Live and Henrietta Lacks in a TV adaptation film called The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks.
Goldsberry was born in the suburbs of San Jose, California but grew up in Houston, Texas and Detroit after his family moved around due to the nature of her father’s job. Elise attended Cranbrook Kingswood School in Michigan where she graduated in 1989. She then attended Carnegie Melon University where she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in theatre class back in 1993. Renée was also a member of the Delta Sigma Theta sorority at the University. Elise earned her Master of Music in Jazz Studies from the Thorton School of Music back in 1997.

Elise made his on-screen debut after her college graduation by starring in a FOX legal comedy-drama called All McBeal. She played the role of a backup singer who appeared alongside the main character Vonda Shepherd from 1997 to 2002. In 2003, Elise landed the role of Evangeline Williamson on the ABC soap opera called One Life to Live until 2007. Her roles earned her nominated an NAACP Image Award in 2004 and even won a Soap Opera Digest Award for her work on One Life to Live.
Elise then went on to play the lead role in The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks and a 2018 Netflix series called Altered Carbon. In 2015 Renée earned more fame and recognition for her role in an off-broadway musical called Hamilton. Her most recent roles are in Tick Tick…Boom! (2021), Anything’s Possible (2022), Eureka! (2022) and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law (since 2022).
