Rich Marriott Biography
Rich Marriott is an American meteorologist for KING 5 Morning News, KING 5 Morning News on KONG, and KING 5 News at Noon. He was born and raised in California, United States of America. Rick joined KING 5 in 1987 as a meteorologist for KING 5 Weekend News and was then moved to his current position in 1990.
Before he joined KING 5 News channel, Rick worked as a meteorologist for the U.S. Forest Service Northwest Mountain Weather and Avalanche Forecast Center. While working for the U.S. Forest Service, he provided detailed mountain weather. Similarly, he predicted updates for avalanche forecasts for Washington and Oregon to government and private agencies, as well as to the public. He has also won an Emmy award.
He has also worked for the University of London as a station manager during the summers for the Blue Glacier Research Project in the Olympic Mountains. His serial work stations include; KING-TV (Seattle, WA), KUSA-TV (Denver, CO), KARE-TV (Minneapolis, MN), WUSA-TV (Washington, DC), WXIA-TV (Atlanta, GA), KHOU-TV (Houston, TX), KGW-TV (Portland, OR), WFMY-TV (Greensboro, NC), WCNC-TV (Charlotte, NC), WZZM-TV (Grand Rapids, MI), KSDK-TV (St. Louis, MO).
