Trina Robinson Biography
Trina Robinson is an American Emmy award-winning anchor, reporter, and meteorologist working for NBC 6 since joining the station in September 1999. He currently anchors the NBC 6 News at 4 & 5:30 p.m. and hails as the first African-American to ever hold a TV weather position in South Florida. Trina has also been a part of the NBC 6 Investigators and is a breaking news specialist.
Robinson received a Liberal Arts degree from the College of Notre Dame in Baltimore, a graduate degree in Journalism and Public Affairs from the American University in Washington, D.C. Later on, she did a course in Meteorology at Mississippi State University.

Robinson started work at NBC 6 in September 1999, becoming one of WTVJ’s most visible and versatile reporters. Currently, she anchors the NBC 6 News 4 & 5:30 p.m. and hails as the first African-American to ever hold a TV weather position in South Florida. She has earned two Emmys for contributions to the station’s Hurricane Specials. Robinson has had multiple re-incarnations during her tenure with NBC 6 from morning anchor to 4 p.m. anchor to “Trina Tries It”. In the latter show, Tina did everything from toss knives as a Benihanna Chef to grabbing a chainsaw to ice sculpt a towering frigid work of art.
Robinson came to WTVJ from KYW in Philadelphia where she anchored the 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. newscasts and covered the White House for budget hearings and the “Monica Lewinsky Scandal” which led to the impeachment of President Clinton. Before joining KYW, Trina worked in Tampa, Orlando, Fort Myers, South Carolina, and Virginia.
