Richard Peter Stanislav Krajicek is a Dutch former professional tennis player. He is also the author of various sports books and the founder of The Richard Krajicek Foundation. Currently, Peter is the director of the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam since 2004. Moreover, he won the men’s singles title championship at Wimbledon, becoming the only Dutch male player to have won the title.

Krajicek was born and raised in Rotterdam, Netherlands. He started playing tennis at the age of four and won both the Dutch under-12 and the under-14 National Championships twice. While still a teenager he won the Wiltshire Open in the UK after beating Steven White in straight sets in the final. His professional career started in 1989 when he won the first top-level singles title in Hong Kong.

He also won the final in straight sets and become the first Dutchman to ever win the Wimbledon title. Despite that, he was defeated in 1997 in the fourth round by Tim Henman. Additionally, he was also defeated in the quarterfinals by Xavier Malisse, and in the semifinals, he lost to Goran Ivanišević in a marathon match. Later after, he beat the world No. 5 Andre Agassi, world No. 1 Sampras, and world No. 9 Yevgeny Kafelnikov on his way to the Stuttgart Masters title.

Richard retired from his professional career in 2003 and throughout his career period, he has won 17 singles titles and three doubles titles.
