Kevin Gregory Biography
Kevin Gregory is an American journalist who presently works for WRTV in Indianapolis, Indiana, as a broadcast meteorologist. He began working at RTV6 in August 1989. Gregory has also worked at WLFI-TV in Lafayette, Indiana, and WCIA-TV in Champaign, Illinois.
Gregory is a Purdue University Phi Beta Kappa graduate with a degree in Telecommunications. He also holds a degree in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University. In 1987, Purdue University honored him with the Big Ten Medal of Honor. The award is awarded to the top male and female student-athlete at each Big Ten school. While at Purdue, Kevin was an All-Big Ten tennis player.
Moreover, Kevin has obtained the Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) certification from the American Meteorological Society, which is given to broadcast meteorologists who achieve certain standards for scientific competency and excellent communication in their weather presentations.
The CBM certification is sought by radio and television meteorologists as a badge of distinction and recognition. In addition, he belongs to the National Weather Association.
Moreover, Kevin spends much of his free time in the community, teaching the next generation about the weather. Over the previous 18 years, he has visited hundreds of elementary schools and now presents Kevin’s Weather Camp each July. Since its inception, around 2000 children have attended the camp, and every December he organizes the RTV6 Toy Drive to assist families in need during the holiday season.
